This morning we sowed a wildflower meadow which we hope will bloom well next summer!
The meadow was sown using locally sourced seed stock from Cheshire Wildlife Trust; collected from their own meadow in Swettenham. This supports preservation of local plant genetics!
The perennial wildflower meadow should only need sowing once and will be managed by an annual scything each August. Each year the display should get stronger as the wildflowers outcompete the grass.
